A Review on Plant Root Architecture and Methods for Measuring Root Growth Parameters

چکیده
The longitudinal arrangement of root systems, as well length, diameter, and hairs are referred to architecture. Plant system plays key role in regulating plant growth development. Root tuber crops (RTCs) that vegetatively propagated offer food security for enormous populations. morphology is affected by soil, climatic, factors. Parameters normally used express distributions number, weight, surface area, volume, the number tips. A factors have been examined influence root- shoot ratio; examples deprivation Nitrogen, low supplies Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium. Most methods measuring parameter labour intensive. Hence, new improved in-situ now developed. Researches crop physiology always progress. physiologists should keep themselves abreast most recent findings their field specialization.

Root Architecture and Plant Productivity.
Water and nutrient availability limit plant growth in a11 but a very few natural ecosystems. They limit yield in most agricultural ecosystems, and in the United States and other industrialized nations, intensive irrigation and fertilization have generated serious environmental problems. The acquisition of soil resources by plant root systems is therefore a subject of considerable interest in ag...

Root architectural traits are important for the selection of crops and cultivars that are most efficient in the acquisition of nutrients and water from soil. Increasingly laboratory-based methods are being used to screen large numbers of plants and to measure selected architectural traits. Our research with temperate cereals demonstrates that while such methods may allow numbers of root axes an...
متن کاملMachine Learning Methods to Analyze Arabidopsis Thaliana Plant Root Growth
AbstractOne of the challenging problems in biology is to classify plants based on their reaction on genetic mutation. Arabidopsis Thaliana is a plant that is so interesting, because its genetic structure has some similarities with that of human beings. Biologists classify the type of this plant to mutated and not mutated (wild) types. Phenotypic analysis of these types is a time-consuming and c...
متن کاملA split-root technique for measuring root water potential.
Water encounters various resistances in moving along a path of decreasing potential energy from the soil through the plant to the atmosphere. The reported relative magnitudes of these pathway resistances vary widely and often these results are conflicting. One reason for such inconsistency is the difficulty in measuring the potential drop across various segments of the soil-plant-atmosphere con...
